NORTHSTAR CLUBHOUSE
Frequently Asked Questions
What is your address?
We are located at 5600 NE Glisan St, Portland, OR.
What are your hours?
We are open Monday - Friday 9 AM - 5 PM, with some Thursday evenings (5 PM - 7 PM), Saturdays and Holidays for social programs (11 AM - 3 PM).
How much time do I have to spend at the Clubhouse?
Membership and participation at a Clubhouse is completely voluntary. Each individual decides how much and how often they wish to be involved. If we have not heard from you after 90 days, we will move you to inactive, but it is a lifetime membership and you can rejoin us when you'd like to.
Must I Work? If so, do I get paid for it?
No, members are not required to work. However, most members find work they can participate in because of all that has to be done to maintain the Clubhouse. Members are not paid for the volunteer work they do at the Clubhouse, but we can assist members in finding and keeping paid employment through the Clubhouse’s employment programs.
Is NorthStar Clubhouse a non-profit?
NorthStar Clubhouse is a program within New Narrative, Inc. - a nonprofit mental health agency working in the Greater Portland area. Therefore, our Clubhouse services fall under a nonprofit status.
What is a staff member?
A Clubhouse staff member is a paid employee of the Clubhouse. Clubhouse staff members have specific job responsibilities related to the day-to-day operation of the Clubhouse and helping members with their individual recoveries and/or life goals.
WHAT BUS LINES RUN NEAR NORTHSTAR?
Bus 19 stops right outside of the clubhouse. Bus 20, 71, and Max Lines (Red, Green, and Blue) are within walking distance.
